Masked Heroes

As a little girl, I used to dream of being a superhero. I thought my super skills would be climbing trees and treading water. There would be no cats stuck in trees or people lost at sea if I was around. Turns out though, I have never once used my ‘super’ abilities to help a single soul, that was until to 2020 rolled around. Being a superhero in 2020 is one of the easiest things you can do. Simply buy a cute mask and put it on whenever you find yourself in a public space of any kind. BAM - you are a HERO with the capacity to save countless lives!

Now I get that masks are sort of inconvenient - they can be hot, bothersome to your ears, and for some it can make breathing somewhat more difficult. The flip side of not wearing a mask though is widespread infection rates, prolonged isolation, and so much more. And whether we like it or not, masks are here to stay until further notice. Which is why we all need to get prepared! I have listed some of my favorite masks below and I encourage you to stock up SOON, because the closer we get to school starting, the harder it will be to find masks available.

Why I love these masks:

  • Soft and breathable - three layers of 100% cotton.

  • Affordable - a 5 pack is $12.50 and a 10 pack is $25 - you will save yourself LOADS of moolah by getting yourself some reusable masks, give that you shouldn’t wear a single use masks for more than a few hours.

  • Environmentally friendly - washable, meaning they are reusable and you won’t work your way through 1000s of them in the coming months.

  • One time use masks just don’t cut it for me. They feel incredibly flimsy and get soggy in no time, but it’s also well over 100 degrees here in Morocco.

  • Designed per CDC recommendations for non-medical grade masks.

  • Plus Old Navy is donating 50,000 of these masks to the Boys & Girls Club of America!
