Remote Readers - September
Welcome to the first edition of our Remote Ramblers Book Club.
This month we will be reading You Are a Badass®: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero.
This isn’t going to be a long post or anything, but I just want to start this off by saying how excited I am that people from all over the world are coming together to read, laugh, learn, and grow together - it’s kind of my dream!
Okay, so here are the nitty gritty details, if you can even call them that.
You can buy the book here, just click the button below and you can get it in whatever format best suits your needs, I’ll personally be reading on my Kindle.
Now that you have the book, here is the schedule.
WEEK 1 (9/2 - 9/8) : Chapters 1 - 5
WEEK 2 (9/9 - 9/15) Chapters 6 -16
WEEK 3 (9/16 - 9/22) : Chapters 17 - 22
WEEK 4 (9/23 - 9/29) : Chapter 23 - 27
Each week on Sunday I will post some questions in the comments section below and you can feel free to engage as little or as much as you’d like!
For example, you can talk about the questions I proposed, the things you liked or didn’t like about the book that week, ask questions of your own, talk about a specific passage you enjoyed, or something you learned. It’s all fair game.
We will vote on the October book on this page during Week 3 of September, so if you have any book suggestions, please send them my way. I want this book club to be as democratic and diverse as possible!
Oh, and if you have any questions as we begin, please feel free to post in the comments section below or in the teal chat box in the bottom left.
* The first time you leave a comment, you will be prompted to sign in which you can simply do using your Facebook, Twitter, or a Gmail account, this simply keeps the robots out of our Book Club.*
Week 1 Discussion Questions:
1) What passage or chapters from Part 1 resonated most strongly with you? Why?
2) What passage or chapter from Part 1 did you have the most difficulty with? What about it made it hard to believe/comprehend?
3) In Chapter 2, the author talks about the importance of believing in "The Source Energy" and its relation to the "Law of Attraction." Are these new concepts for you?Do you agree or disagree with the premise that we can manifest good or bad things into our life based upon our own energy and outlook?
4) At the end of Chapter 1, in the last three pages of the Chapter, the author describes a process for identifying and understanding what limiting beliefs exist in our subconscious minds. Take a few minutes and ask yourself these questions about an area of your life that you feel is "less than impressive."
What is the limiting belief that you have? What are some questions you can ask yourself to challenge that belief? What answers came to your mind?
